Assertion
It is the act of proving the assertion by explaining, describing, elaborating, or providing a premise.
Reasoning
Facts, information or observations in support of an assertion.
Evidence
It is a debate format which involves four teams rather than two.

It is a clearly worded statement which announces the topic of the debate.
Motion
To discredit an argument by offering a completely different point of view
Rebut
To produce evidence (facts or figures) to prove an argument untrue

A critical part to the success of the debate.
Defining the motion
May be a question, a statement, or an argument which cannot be longer than 15 seconds.
Point of Information (POI)
One who defines the motion and provides a debatable case;
Provides the split between speakers;
States position on the case;
Provides at least two major arguments;
Summarizes arguments and concludes speech reiterating position on the matter
Prime Minister
One who introduces the Opposition’s case;
Accepts or challenges the Government’s definition;
Provides preview of the Opposition’s case and team split;
Refute the Government’s case;
Presents at least two arguments and concludes the speech
Opposition Leader
One who provides rhetorical introduction, as appropriate, and speech preview;
Answers and rebuts the Opposition’s criticism;
Rebuilds case and or provides constructive matter
Deputy Prime Minister
One who answers Government’s defense;
Rebuts new arguments presented by the Deputy Prime Minister;
Rebuilds and sustains arguments;
Presents at least one additional constructive matter
Deputy Leader of Opposition
One who presents a new case consistent with the Opening Government;
Provides different context and new perspectives;
Refutes the Deputy Leader of Opposition’s arguments
Member of the Government
One who presents an extension of the Opposition’s case;
Refutes the arguments of the Member of the Government
Member of the Opposition
One who rebuts the Member of the Opposition;
Presents new arguments (only as needed);
Summarizes the debate and provides statement why government wins the debate.
Government Whip
One who rebuts the Government Whip;
Summarizes the debate and provides statement why Opposition wins the debate
