What is the definition of Propaganda?
Spreading ideals and messages subtly through media and other forms of presentation e.g. posters, speeches etc. It was intended to persuade people to do something normally
Who were conchies?
These were people who REFUSED to fight in the war
What were the punishments of a man not joining the army?
He could be taken to court, imprisoned or shot
Was there any excuse for a man not to go to war?
In some cases men were allowed to remain out of the fighting because either they were miners who were key in manufacturing weapons, ammunition and other items or they were the last man in the line of that family in some cases (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN)
Some conchies had to join the army, what jobs/roles did they take?
They wanted non-violent jobs such as drivers or supply checkers
