What is the Before Take Off Briefing ?

A
  1. Type of take-off ( Normal, Short, Crosswind )
  2. Runway in use
  3. Partial power ( 1500 RPM), Engine parameters check
  4. Take off power set
  5. VMC
  6. Vr
  7. Vyse/ Vy
  8. Any problem before rotation, reject and perform ground emergency procedures
  9. Any problem after rotation , continue and proceed with in-flight emergency procedures
  10. Read SID or IFR departure that has been approved (IFR )
  11. Comm failure procedures ( IFR )

What is the approach plate briefing ?

A
  1. Generalities:
    - Approach type and transition, runway used and airport name, plate validity
    - Airport elevation and touchdown altitude
    - Safety altitudes : 100NM and 25NM
    2.Trajectory:
    Transition from arrival / hold, routing, headings and directions of turns, procedure turn type
  2. Descent profile:
    Altitudes PT, FAF, Stepdown, / MDA with temp correction if needed
  3. Decision and missed approach :
    Missed approach point position/timing
    Visual transition if runway in sight
    Missed approach reading if no visual
    5.Speeds :
    Transition speed, Approach speed and Vref
