What is a diaphragm?
It is a muscle that is underneath the ribcage.
What happens to the diaphragm when you breath in?
The diaphragm goes down and the ribcage goes up.
What happens to the chest cavity when you breathe in?
The volume of the chest cavity will increase so they pressure decreases.
What happens to the pressure when the volume of the chest cavity increase?
The pressure decreases, which cause air to rush in and the pressure increases again.
Why does air rush in when the volume increases and the pressure decreases?
Air rushes in because the particles are forced to diffuse from a high concentration place into a low concentration place.
What happens when you to the volume of the chest cavity when you breath out?
The volume of the chest cavity decreases.
What happens to the pressure when the volume of the chest cavity decreases?
The pressure increase, however air rushes out which decreases the pressure.
What is the scientific name for breathing in?
Inhale.
What is the scientific name for breathing out?
Exhale.
