loud, high pitched, over trachea with equal inspiration and expiration
Trachea breath sounds
softer version of the normal breath sound
Diminished breath sound
no sound heard
absent breath sound
discontinuous adventitious popping lung sounds heard most often on inspiration (caused by high fluid)
Crackles
Abnormal, fine, and discontinuous adventitious lung sounds heard at the later part of inhalation over the dependent region of the lung
late inspiratory crackles
continuous, adventitious lung sounds heard most often on exhalation, Musical sounds and means intrathoracic airway obstruction.
Wheezes
Monophonic, high pitched wheeze heard over upper airway in patients with croup or epiglottis
stridor
suggest shallow breathing or hyperinflation of the lung as with emphysema for which breath sound
Diminished breath sounds
suggest an increase in lung density as occurs with pneumonia
bronchial breath sounds
produced by the sudden opening of collapsed airways or with movement of excessive airways secretions.
Crackles
produced by vibration of the narrowed airway walls as air flows through at high speeds
Wheezes
produced by vibration of tissues in the upper airway with labored breathing
Stridor
When a patient whispers E and the sound sounds like an A they have a
egophany A (Abnormal)
When a patient whishpers 99 and you hear it loud and clear in lungs

When a patient whispers 99 and you hear a muffled sound they have
