What is the Frontal Lobe and what are its functions?

A
  • Frontal Lobe is the largest lobe
  • It is the Primary Motor Cortex = in charge of voluntary muscle control
  • Also is in charge of thinking, personality, problem solving, decision making, emotional regulation, and attention span
  • Brocca’s area is in charge of speech

What are the Temporal Lobe functions?

A
  • Primary auditory cortex = Receives auditory info from ears and then processes it so we understand what we are hearing
  • Hippocampus = where episodic memories are formed which are autobiographical memories of events
  • Amygdala = attaches emotion to memories
