Brachial Plexus Flashcards
What are the parts of the brachial plexus?
Roots, trunks, divisions, cords, branches
Upper trunk
C5, C6
Middle trunk
C7
Lower trunk
C8, T1
What are the divisions?
anterior and posterior of all 3 trunks
Posterior cord
made up of all posterior divisions
Terminal branches are Axillary and Radial nerves
Lateral cord
Anterior divisions of upper and middle trunk
C5-C7
Terminal branches are Musculocutaneous and part of Median
Medial cord
Anterior divisions of lower trunk
C8-T1
Terminal branches are Ulnar and part of Median
Branches from the roots
Dorsal scapular (C5) Long thoracic (C5-C7)
Branches from the trunks
Suprascapular (C5-C6)
