Monotropy?
A unique attachment to a single, primary care giver.
Evolutionary explanation?
Bowlby stated that babies have an in built attachment to assist in their survival.
Internal Working Model?
The child will use the attachment formed with the primary caregiver as a blueprint for other attachments.
Safe Base Behavior?
The child will go to their primary caregiver in times of distress.
Social Releasers?
The action babies preform e.g. crying, smiling and vocalization to communicate with parents.
Critical Period?
Bowlby stated that the critical period is between 2/3 years, if an attachment is not formed in this time then they will suffer later in life.
