EPHESIANS – Church (6)
Characteristics & Themes: The unity of the body under the headship of Christ. Strong Election (1) with Strong Unity (4). Purpose of encouragement toward maturity in Christ, no particular problems in Ephesus, similar to Colossians. A letter to remind them of God’s Sovereign Election - specifically with unity between Jew and Gentile. Ephesians is meditative and Colossians is argument oriented.

COLOSSIANS – Supremacy Of Christ (4)
Characteristics & Themes: Christians are now part of a new creation, having died to all involvement with demonic powers, and should seek the things of a heavenly nature. Being a new creature in Christ means that respect, dignity, and equality are to be exalted to all; family members should maintain the appropriate relationship to one another, in a spirit of mutual respect.
