Q

How does ionic charge affect strength of ionic bonds

A

The greater the charge in the ion, the stronger the ionic bond, therefore higher melting and boiling point

Q

How does ionic radii effect strength of ionic bonds

A

Small ions can pack closer together than large ions, so ions with small ionic radii have stronger ionic bonds than ions with large ionic radii.
Ionic compounds with small, closely lacked ions have higher melting and boiling point than ionic conjoined made from larger ions
