Bold face Flashcards
EGRESS
If necessary:
- EJECT
Otherwise:
- Throttle - OFF
- FIREWALL SHUTOFFF - Remove guard and pull
- Command Ejection Selector - SOLO, locked in detent
- *Seat firing handle safety pin - Insert through housing
- Parking brake - as reqd
- Canopy - Open/CFS Operation as reqd
- *Unstrap completely: Shoulder harness, lap belt, SSK, leg restaint
- BAT, GEN, AUX BAT - OFF
- *Aircraft - Vacate and move clear upwind
CFS OPERATION
- *Other occupant/external parties - warn as required
- *Oxygen mask - donned
- *Visors - down
- *CFS handle - rotate 90 degs ACW, close eyes and pull
FAILURE TO EJECT
- Seat firing handle safety pin - check removed
- Seat firing handle - pull again
EMERGENCY OXYGEN FAILS AFTER EJECTION
- Green ring - pull up and aft (SAMBRTAOF)
AUTOMATIC SEPARATION FAILS AFTER EJECTION
- MOR - Operate
ABORT
- Throttle - idle
- Brakes - as reqd
- EJECT or EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN
TYRE FAILURE DURING TAKEOFF/LANDING
If decision is made to stop:
1. ABORT/continue with landing
If takeoff is continued:
2. Gear and flaps position - maintain
(Land as soon as prac)
EFATO
If sufficient runway remains straight ahead and gear is down:
1. Throttle - IDLE, then OFF when appropriate
2. Attempt landing or EJECT
If below forced landing parameters and gear is selected UP:
3. EJECT
If above forced landing parameters:
4. Go to FORCED LANDING or EJECT
ENGINE FIRE
On the ground:
1. EGRESS
In the air:
2. Throttle - min prac
3. Check for signs of fire
If definite signs of fire and above 10,000 ft AMSL:
4. Green ring - pull up and aft (SAMBRTAOF)
5. Altitude - initiate descent (to achieve below 10,000 ft AMSL within 10 mins)
In all events with definite signs of fire:
6. Throttle - OFF
7. Firewall shutoff handle - remove guard and pull
8. Does engine fire persist?:
YES: EJECT
NO: Go to PRE-MEDITATED EJECTION or FORCED LANDING
EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN
- EGRESS - as reqd
If >10,000ft AMSL:
2. Green ring - pull up and aft (SAMBRTAOF)
3. Altitude - initiate descent (to achieve below 10,000 ft AMSL within 10 mins)
In all events:
4. Throttle - OFF
5. Firewall shutoff - remove guard and pull
ENGINE MECHANICAL FAILURE
Symptoms:
- Loss of thrust
- N1 rapidly reducing
- Tq rapidly reducing
- ITT reducing
- Possible noise and vibration
Do not attempt a relight
- Go to EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN
FLAMEOUT/INADVERTENT THROTTLE OFF
If >10,000 ft AMSL:
1. Green ring - pull up and aft (SAMBRTAOF)
2. Altitude - initiate descent (to achieve below 10,000 ft AMSL within 10 mins)
In all events:
3. Throttle - OFF
Consider:
4. IMMEDIATE RELIGHT
or
PMU NORM RELIGHT
or
PMU OFF RELIGHT
IMMEDIATE RELIGHT (PMU NORM)
If necessary:
1. EJECT
Otherwise:
2. Throttle - OFF
3. Starter - AUTO/RESET
When N1 at a minimum of 13%:
4. Throttle - IDLE
(Warning: movement of throttle above IDLE before N1 stabilises at 67% will cause an increase in fuel flow which can cause catastrophic engine damage due to severe ITT over temperature)
5. Engine indications - Monitor
(Note: a relight is unsuccessful if no N1 rise within 5 secs after selection of STARTER or no ITT rise within 10 secs after fuel flow indications)
If relight unsuccessful and time and circumstances permit (note in excess of 1200 ft lost per attempt):
6. Throttle - OFF, go back to step 3
If relight is unsuccessful and time and circumstances do not permit further relight
- Go to EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN or EJECT
UNCOMMANDED POWER CHANGES/UNCOMMANDED PROPELLER FEATHER
- Throttle - mid range, ITT < 820 deg
- PMU - OFF
- Is prop control regained?
YES: land ASAP
NO: go to step 4 (non BF)
PMU FAILURE
- Throttle - min prac, ITT <820 deg C
- PMU - OFF
