18
Q

What do enzymes do

A

They help speed up the digestion progress

19
Q

What is ingestion

A

Its when you put food in you’re mouth

20
Q

What is digestion

A

You chew up the food and it becomes smaller so that it will be easier for it to go down in the esophogaus Saliva will get sprayed on the food as well to help it go down. The food will go down the esophagus which basically is a long muscular tube. It will then reach the stomach. The stomach is full of gastric juice which breaks down the food. The broken up food is then sent to the small intestine.

21
Q

What is gastric juice

A

A type of acid in the stomach that breaks down food

22
Q

What is asorbing

A

When the nutrients are at the end of the small intestine, they start to get absorbed. The small intestine is covered in villi which increases the surface area so it can take in more nutrients. It then goes to the large intestine which takes undigested material and reasorb the water and nutrients.

23
Q

What is eliminating

A

Undigested material at this point is called feces. They get removed from the body from the anus.

24
Q

What does the heart do

A

It pumps blood through your body

25
Q

List in order the blood path through the heart

A

Right artium, right ventricle, valve, blood gets enriched by lungs, left artium, left ventricle, goes through the body

26
Q

What are the roads called that transport the blood

A

Blood vessels

27
Q

Where do blood vessels go

A

They go around the body to your heat and back again

28
Q

What is a arterie

A

They carry the blood away from the heart. They are thick because oxeygen blood is often under pressure.

29
Q

What are capillaries

A

They are tiny vessels that diffuse oxeygen through the very thin walls of the vessels into surrounding tissue cells. In exchange, the tissue will diffuse carbon dioxide and waste into the capillaries.

30
Q

What is in blood

A

Plasma, red cells, white cells, and platlets

31
Q

What do red cells do

A

They carry oxeygen from the lungs to the cells of the body and carbon dioxide from the body cells to you’re lungs. They also make bone marrow

32
Q

What are white cells

A

White cells fight infections

33
Q

What are platlets

A

They make scabs to help cover cuts.
