A

The ‘Frontal/ Coronal plane’ divides the body into FRONT and BACK or POSTERIOR/ANTERIOR.

Coronal secrions are common in brain imaging, such as images ontained from CT scans.

The transverse section divides the body into:
Superior = towards the head
Inferior = towards the feet

The coronal secrion divides the body into:
Anterior = towards the front (ventral)
Posterior = towards back (dorsal)

Medial = towards midsaggital secrion
Lateral = away from the midline
Proximal= towards attachment point to the body
Distal= further from point of attachment to body
Superficial= towards body/ skin surface
Deep= towards body centre or core
Central= towards body core
Peripheral= towards extremities/ periphery
