What is the meaning of health ?
Health is the state of completely physical and mentally and social well-Being and not completely an absence of disease.
What is a disease?
~ disease is a condition in which any part of the body cannot function normally
~ it is characterised by signs and symptoms
What is a sign ?
A sign is and evidence of a disease that can be measured and observed by other people
What is a symptom ?
A symptom is ana evidence of a disease that can only felt by the patient
What are non-infectious disease?
Non-infectious disease cannot be transmitted between persons
What is infectious disease?
Infectious disease can be transmitted from one person to another person
What is the cause of infectious disease and examples ?
~Invasion of the body by pathogens
~influenza, malaria, tuberculosis, athlete’s foot
What are the causes of non-infectious disease and examples?
~genetic factors. eg. thalassaemia
~biological factors (ageing) eg. Contract
~behavioural factors (unbalanced diet, smoking, alcohol, x exercise) eg. Survey
~environmental factors (long exposure of sunlight) eg. Skin cancer
What is pathogen?
Pathogens are virus or organism such as bacteria, portists, and fungi
