Blood Supply Flashcards
Right Pulmonary Artery: Location
At the root of the lung is anterior and inferior to the primary bronchus
Right Pulmonary Artery: Pathway
From root of the lung passes between upper and middle lobe bronchi to reach a position posterolateral to the stem bronchus
Left Pulmonary Artery: Location
At the root of the lung is anterior and superior to the primary bronchus
Left Pulm Art: Pathway
From ant and sup to primary bronchus, passes above the upper lobe bronchus to reach a position posterolateral to the stem bronchus
How many bronchial branches are there and what types are they?
3: 2 left and 1 right branch
Bronchial Arteries: Origin
Left come directly from aorta
Right comes off an intercostal or one of the left branches
Bronchial Arteries: Purpose
Supply the air conducting system of the lungs
What are the 2 pulmonary veins called and where are they located?
Superior and Inferior which serve each lung
Lie anterior and inferior to other structures at the hilus of the lungs
Superficial Plexus (Lymphatic): Location
Lies in or near the visceral pleura
True or false: the superficial plexus has nodes
False, has no nodes and must empty into hilar nodes
What does the Deep Plexus consist of?
Pulmonary Nodes
Bronchopulmonary nodes
Tracheobronchial nodes
Pulmonary Node: Location
In the bronchopulmonary segments
Bronchopulmonary Nodes: Location
Located near the lobar bronchi
Tracheobronchial nodes: Location
Near the primary bronchi, has a superior and inferior portion
