A
Where the movement of blood is slow in an area, where blood stagnates

What causes blood stasis?
A
Qi deficiency, trauma or injury, heat, cold

How can you tell if heat is causing blood stasis?
A
If the vessels burn or burst

How can you tell if cold is causing blood stasis?
A
Cold and slow movement of blood

What are the symptoms of blood stasis?
A
Pain
Bruising and swelling
Numbness and tingling
Dark purple tongue
Skin changes - dark spots, varicose veins, lumps, cysts
Periods irregular, painful, dark clots
Bursts out due to propelling function
Leads to number of chronic conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain

A
Sometimes it can make it worse because it can add more to what’s already blocked
