Blood cell 101 Flashcards
Erythrocytes: Describe cell and function
it is a Biconcave, anucleate disc, that transports oxygen and CO2
Neutrophils:Describe cell and function
Granulocyte, Nucleus multilobed, has cytoplasmic granules, its function is phagoctize bacteria
Eosinophils: Describe cell and function
Granulocyte, nucleus is bilobed, RED cytoplasmic granules. The function is a complex roll in asthma and allergy
Basophil: Describe cell and function
Granulocytenucleus lobed, large blue/purple cytoplasmic granules. Its function is to release histamine and other mediators of inflammation
Lymphocyte: Describe cell and function
Nuleus is spherical, pale blue cytoplasm. it function is mount an immune response by direct cell attack or via antibodies
Monocyte:Describe cell and function
Nucleus U or kidney shaped, grey/blue cytoplasm. It function as phagocytosis develops into macrophages
