ACA supplies:
anterior frontal lobe, medial surface of frontal and parietal lobes
Impairments if ACA is infarcted?
contra LE motor and sensory loss
Loss of bowel/bladder control
Sig mental changes

Basal Ganglia
Posterior and anterior internal capsule
Putamen
Pallidum
Lentiform Nucleus
Impairments if MCA is infarcted?
Wernicke’s Apashia in dominant hemisphere
Homonymous Hemianopsia
Apraxia
Flat affect with R hemisphere damage
Contra weakness and sensory loss of face and UE
Impaired spatial relations
anosognosia in non-dominant hemisphere
Impaired Body schema
PCA Supplie:
portion of Midbrain
Subthalamic Nucleus
Thalamus
Inferior Temporal Lobe
Occipital and occipitoparietal cortices
Impairments if PCA is infarcted?
contra Pain and temp loss

Cortical blindess if Bilat involvement
Vertebral-basilar artery supplies
Lateral Aspect of pons and midbrain with superior surface of cerebellum
Cerebellum– PICA, AICA, Superior cerebellar arteries
Medulla– PICA, smaller branches from vertebral arteries
Pons– branches from basilar artery
Midbrain and thalamus– posterior cerebral arteries
Occipital cortex: posterior cerebral artery, basilar artery
