What is blood made up of?
plasma
white blood cells
red blood cells

What do white blood cells do?
defend from pathogens
What do platelets do?
They are small fragments of cell with no nucleus that cause your blood to clott
What do red blood cells do?
carry oxygen
What does plasma do?
It is a liquid and carries: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and non chemical things such as carbon dioxide, nutrients, hormones, proteins, antibodies, urea
What are the parts of the heart?
right atrium
right ventricle
left atrium
left ventricle
What blood vessel is in the right atrium?
vena cava
What blood vessel is in the right ventricle?
pulmonary artery
What blood vessels are in the left atrium?
pulmonary vein
What blood vessels are in the left ventricle?
the aorta
Where do arteries take blood?
away from the heart
Where do veins take blood?
into the heart
Where does the blood go once it has left the lungs?
It goes through the left atrium and ventricle then the rest of the body then the right ventricle into the right atrium back into the right ventricle then into the right atrium and the lungs
