Block X Flashcards
What is the objective of NAMP?
To achieve and continually improve aviation material readiness and safety standards
Three levels of maintenance concepts
- O-level
- I-level
- D-level
Maintenance performed by operating unit on a day to day basis in support of its own operations
O-Level
To enhance and sustain combat readiness and capability of supported activities by providing support
I-level
Ensure continued integrity of airframes and flight systems. Performed on material requiring major overhaul or rebuilding of parts
D-level
Two types of maintenance in NAMP
Rework and upkeep
Restorative or additive work performed on aircraft and equipment
Rework
Preventative, restorative, or additive work performed on aircraft and equipment
Upkeep
Types of upkeep maintenance
- turnaround
- daily
- special
- conditional
- phase
- acceptance
- transfer
What are the 3 types of audits that QA performs?
- Special
- Work center
- Program audits
who is in charge of the NAMP?
CNO
When was NAMP establised?
1959
Head of the maintenance dept; manages dept and responsible to CO for accomplishment of dept’s mission
Maintenance Officer (MO)
assists the MO in performce of duties and keep fully informed of matters
Assistant Maintenance Officer (AMO)
responsible for the overall production and material support of the dept; responsible for preparing and publishing MMP
Maintenance/Material Control Officer (MMCO)
senior enlisted advisor for maintenance dept; reports to the MO and advises the CO in all matters affecting aircraft operations, aircraft maintenance, and dept personnel
Maintenance Master Chief Petty Officer (MMCPO)
ensure personnel assigned to perform QA functions receive continuous training in inspecting, testing, and quality control methods specific to their area of assignment
Quality Assurance Officer (QAO)
supply corps officer assigned to a deployable squadron and assigned for handling of finances, material requisition
Material Control Officer (MCO)
how long is a turnaround inspection good for?
24 hours
how long is a daily inspection good for?
72 hours
maintenance that’s performed at D-level
rework maintenance
used to determine whether the airframe, powerplant, accessories and equipment are functioning in accordance with predetermined standards
Functional Check Flight (FCF)
When is an FCF conducted?
- Completion of SDLM
- Acceptance
- After engine system installation
- flight control surface component replacement
- attitude system component replacement/adjustment
- certain phase inspections
- any time the aircraft has not flown for 30 days or more
function of retaining material in or restoring it to serviceable condition
Maintenance
general term to denote central executive direction and control of work by an individual or organization
Management
process of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling organic industrial resources required for physically performing equipment maintenance
Maintenance Management
material condition of an aircraft which, considering mission requirements and environmental conditions, permits it to be launched, flown and landed safely and esnure the aircrew has, as a minimum, the operable equipment for safe flight required
Safe for Flight (SFF)
to provide scheduled control of predictable maintenance workload
Monthly Maintenance Plan (MMP)
detailed service record maintained for each aircraft; includes record of rework, major repairs, flight and operational data, etc.
Aircraft Logbook
what is the main difference between maintenance control and production control?
the level of maintenance at which the duties are performed
What level is maintenance control?
O-level
What level is production control?
I-level
what are the two of the most critical aspects in naval aviation?
- Release of an aircraft safe for flight
- Acceptance of aircraft
when is the MMP prepared and distributed?
By the 25th of each month at the O-level
By the 1st of each month at the I-level
the prevention of the occurrence of defects
Quality Assurance (QA)
they certify that the work involved has been personally inspected by them; has been properly completed and in accordance with instructions
Quality Assurance Rep (QAR)
function in the same capacity as QARs and must meet the same qualifications; can be assigned on temp or perm basis
Collateral Duty QAR (CDQAR)
inpsect all work and comply with required QA inspections; responsible to QAO and will spot check all work in progress
Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI)
provides a central source of up-to-date info for use by all personnel in the peformance of their work
Central Technical Publications Library (CTPL)
serve as an orderly method of identifying, investigating, and correcting deficiencies
Quality Assurance Audit Program
What are the 3 types of QA audits?
- Special
- Workcenter
- Program audits
conducted to evaluate specific maintenance tasks, processes, procedures, and programs. Copies are held for one year
Special Audit
conducted semi-annually to evaluate the overall quality performance of each work center
Workcenter Audit
Evaluates specific programs to identify deficiencies and adequacy. This is done at a minimum, annually
Program Audit
key to safe and efficient aircraft/equipment maintenance
proper operation of SE
ensure a safe environment is maintained when working on aeronautical equipment fuel cells and tanks
Aircraft Confined Space Program (ACSP)
reports of missing, lost, or stolen items are made by a completed copy of what?
Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss
(DD Form 200) or
Report of Discrepancy (ROD)
(SF Form 364)
who is responsible for flight packets for issue to pilots making extended flights
Supply officers or material Control officers
