Perching Songbirds

Cavity-nesters
Birds that build nests, lay eggs, and raise their young inside sheltered chambers or cavities.
Wading Birds
Long-legged birds that stay mostly in shallow waters. Cranes, storks, and herons.
Marine Birds
Birds that have adapted to live within the marine environment. Gulls
Penguins
Large flightless seabird that lives, naturally in the southern hemisphere. Emperor, Little, Galapagos.
Owls
Nocturnal bird of prey with large, forward-facing eyes, surrounded by facial discs, a hooked beak, and typically loud call. Barn owl, Great-Horned Owl, Spotted, & Spectacled.
Flightless Birds
Birds that lack the ability to fly. Penguins, Ostrich, Emu, and Kiwi.
Waterfowl
A water bird, especially those that swim. Goose, Duck, Swan.
American Crow
All black, with tufts or domes on the tops of their heads.
American Goldfinch
Yellow based wing feathers that lead turn black then white and black striped towards the tips of the feathers.Yellow body and a black cap on the top of the head.
American Robin
Black heads with white circles around the eyes. Grey backs and an orange chest.
Baltimore Oriole
Bright orange breast with a solid black head and wings black with white stripes.
Barn Swallow
Shiny blue on the top of the head with it being brown from the beak down to end of the throat. The breast is a light cream color.
Black-Capped Chickadee
black dome on top of head and black under the beak with thick, broad white streaks from the beak to the back of the head/neck
