Q

Explain the Step by Step method of the Osmosis and Potato Practical

A
  1. Cut 6 2x2x2 cubes of potato
  2. In 6 different test tubes, place a sugar+water solution which all have different concentration
  3. Place one cube in each test tube and time for 5 mins
  4. After 5 mins, take each potato cube out and remeasure it
  5. The largest potato will be the cube which was placed in the lowest concentration on solution

Q

Describe the Microscopy experiment

A
  1. Make your slide, make sure there are as little air bubbles inside and you do not touch the bottom or top of the slide
  2. Place the slide on the stage, and secure slide with stage clips
  3. Turn on the light
  4. Look though the eye piece and use the coarse adjustment and focus adjustment know to better your view of the slide
  5. Record any findings and dispose of the slide correctly

Q

Explain the Culturing Microorganism in a Lab experiment

A
  1. Cut even cubes of agar jelly
  2. Place the agar jelly in a Petri dish
  3. Add the microorganism onto the agar jelly
  4. Place the lid of the Petri dish on top
  5. Tape the lid on and flip upside down
  6. Keep at a 25 degree temperate for safe results
