What do veins have as an adaptation?
They have valves to prevent backflow.
Where does oxygenated blood enter the heart from?
The pulmonary vein.
What do alveoli do?
Transfer oxygen to the blood through gas exchange.
Where does oxygenated blood flow out of the heart to?
The rest of the body.
What are statins?
Drugs which reduce fatty deposits in the artery.
What are stents?
Wire meshes which open up the artery and help blood to flow better.
Why does the heart have a septum?
To stop oxygenated and deoxygenated blood from mixing.
What does the tricuspid and bicuspid valve do?
Prevent backflow in the heart.
Which has higher pressure: veins or arteries?
Arteries.
Where does deoxygenated blood flow into the heart from?
The vena cava.
