carbohydrates- carbon, hydrogen, oxygen
fats- carbon, hydrogen, oxygen
proteins- carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen,sulfur

how are larger molecules made
A
they are made up of smaller molecules e.g
- starch , glycogen, cellulose= glucose
- proteins= amino acids
- fats and oils= fatty acids and glycerol

what are the uses of iodine, benedicts, biuret, ethanol/emulsion and DCPIP solution?
A
-iodine solution= test for presence of starch
-benedict’s solution= test for reducing sugars
-biuret solution= test for presence of protein
-ethanol and emulsion= tets for fats and oils
-DCPIP= test for vitamins C
