Bioenergetics (Lec 6) Flashcards
Glycogen Phosphorylase
Aids in the transformation of Glycogen -> Glucose, activated by ↑ ADP, Ca2+, Epinephrine, inhibited by ↑ ATP and Fatty Acids
Hexokinase
Aids in transformation of blood Glucose -> glucose-6-phosphate, inhibited by glucose-6-phosphate and ↑ Fatty acids
Phosphofructokinase (PFK)
Aids in transformation of glucose-6-phosphate -> fructose 1,6 biphosphate, activated by ↑ fructose 1,6 biphosphate, ADP and ↓CP, inhibited by ↑ H+, Citrate (Krebs cycle), ATP, Fatty acids
Pyruvate Kinase
Activated by ↑ fructose 1,6 biphosphate, inhibited by ATP and Alanine
Kreb’s Cycle
Known as Cytric Acid Cycle or Tricarboxylic acid cycle, complete oxidation of C, H, O, fats and sometimes proteins for use in Electron Transport Chain (chemiosmosis)
