Q

How does farming reduce biodiversity?

A

= destruction of hegdes- provides habitat, and prevents predators
= selective breeding: reduces biodivertsity, breeding one type of plants, lower gene pool choosing only selective advantages
= monocultures: only growing one plant species, attract the same insects and lower diversity
= overgrazing
= ponds filled wetlands drained, provide space for farming

Q

Why may there be low amounts of a paerticular species?

A

= competition
= more prey
= less food
=less oxygen for respiration
= less habitats
