Bio 2 Flashcards
How many micrometers r in a centimeter
10,000
Main causes of kwashiorkor and marsamaus
K: insufficient protein
M: protein AND energy
On a limiting photosynthesis graph, is the gradient is less than the other line it means (not x axis ) wala factors have decreased

Characteristics of myriapods
Arthopods
Segmented bodies
Jointed legs
Describe the process of mitosis
- copied
- Aligned arranged in the middle
- pulled apart and separated
- Division; 2 daughter cells
Meosis
- replicate to make X shape
- Line up in the middle and Swapped over (variation) crossed
- divides twice (4 daughter cells)
Give an example of a protist
Malaria
What method of transport does the phloem use?
Active transport
Written summary of the structural of the heart
Deoxygenated blood enters the vena cava which then passes through the right atrium and then the triscupid valve into the right ventricle and then goes to the semi lunar valve and pulmonary artery to get oxygenated. After which, blood returns into the heart through pulmonary vein into the left ventricle and then leaves to the body through the semi lunar aorta
difference between structures of WBCS
lymphocytes : has a large round nucleus takes up most of the space
phagocytes: lobed nucleus
what features do bacterial cells not have?
nucleus and mitochondria
what are the four classes under the phylum : Arthopods
myriapods
crustyoceans
insects
arachnids
what identifies a myriapod
ex . milipede and centipedes jointed legs one pair of antenna segmented each segment has one pair of legs
which part of the eye contains muscle?
the iris and the pupil.
what is required for seed germination?
suitable temp, water and oxygen
what group does vein belong to
it is an organ
xylem and blood are an example of
a tissue
what is a function of the kidneys of a healthy person
reabsorb all glucose
on which days of the menstural cycle is a woman most likely to become pregnant?
days 13 to 16
can bony fish maintain a constant body temperature?
no
where does auxin cause elongation?
Only the region behind the tip of a shoot is able to contribute to growth by cell division and cell elongation. This part of a shoot is called the meristem. When light shines on the shoot predominantly from one side though, the auxin produced in the tip concentrates on the shaded side, making the cells on that side elongate and grow faster than the cells on the sunny side
difference between annelid and nematode
both have elogated bodies but annelids are segmented
what are the products of anaerobic reapiration in muscles
lactic acid and energy only
which action straightens the arm
biceps relex
triceps contract
