Binomial Distribution Flashcards
1
Q
What sort of data is the binomial distribution suitable for?
A
- Discrete Data.
2
Q
What are the three variables associated with Binomial Calculations?
A
- x = probability of a certain value.
- n = number of trials.
- p = probability.
3
Q
What is ‘binomial PD’ used for?
A
- When you want to calculate an individual x value.
For Example:
n = 10
p = 0.45
P(x=5) = 0.234
4
Q
What is ‘binomial CD’ used for?
A
- When you are working with a range of values, in the form of an inequality.
For Example:
N = 10
P = 0.45
P(x>4) = 1 - P(x<3)
P (x>4) = 0.733.
