BEREAVEMENT
When a death occurs in the immdiate family. The firefighter is granted two (2) consecutive days.
The immediate family consists of?
- Which two BY BLOOD, ARE NOT included ?
- The ONLY Person that is NOT BY BLOOD included?
- Spouce/Common-law spouce
- Same Sex Partner
- Parents
- Children/*Step-Child
- Sisters/Brothers
- Grandparents
- Grand-Child
BY BLOOD ONLY 👉EXCEPT STEP CHILD
*NO AUNT OR UNCLE or NEPHEW
NO STEP BROTHER OR SISTER

BEREAVEMENT
In the event that an employee has someone outside his immediate family die they get one (1) shift off. The following people are included.
- Which of your BY BLOOD family IS included ?
- ❤️Who outside of your family is NOT INCLUDED?
- ❤️What type of parent is included ?
- Parent-in-law (wifes parents)
- Brother/Sister-in-law (wifes brother/sister)
- Son/Daughter-in-law (married to your child)
- Step brother/sister (sibling of remarraige)
- Grandparents-in-law (wifes grandparents)
- Person in LOCO parentis (taking over as parents)
- ❤️YOUR AUNT/UNCLE or NEPHEW
Basically wifes family minus HER aunt/uncle

If a FF get’s word of a death in the family during shift.
What are they entiltled to ?
They get the REMAINDER of the shift
PLUS their bereavement

If a Firefighter is requiring bereavement on the Friday, but is ONLY entitled to ONE DAY. Example: YOUR AUNT/NEPHEW
- You shall recieve what other day as well ?
You Also get the Sunday shift
