In disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, frustration is triggered by frustration, whereas in explosive disorder, seem random, impulsive.

If symptoms occur in:
1 environment: Mild severity
2 environments: Moderate severity
3 environments: Severe severity
DSM5TR crit for oppositional defiant disorder?
Needs 4 symptoms for at least 6 months.
- Vindictive or spiteful (only needs to occur twice in 6month period)
- Argues
- Deliberately annoys people
- Blames others for mistakes
- Breaks rules or defies authority figures
- Loses temper
- Easily annoyed
- Angry and resentful

In Intermittent Explosive disorder, the outbursts are random and rarely causethe destruction of property or harm to people/animals.
What is ADHD at it’s core and what two domains are there?
ADHD is a disorder of executive functioning and self-regulation. They impact three primary domains. Attention regulation, behavioral inhibition, and activity level.
The disorder is characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and or hyperactivity-impulsivity.
2 main domains?
Inattention
Hyperactivity-impulsivity
DSM5 TR for ADHD?
DSM – Disorder is characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and or hyperactivity-impulsivity.
Inattention and Hyperactivity-impulsivity are the 2 main domains. Several symptoms must be present before age 12 and be present in 2 or more settings. Impair ROSE.
For Inattention – 6 or more symptoms, 5 for clients age 17 and older, must persist for at least 6 months. Symptoms:
- Failing to give close attention to details
- Careless mistakes
- Difficulty sustaining attention in class
- Not seeming to listen
- Not following through on instructions/fail to finish task
- Difficulty organizing tasks and activities
- Avoiding tasks requiring sustained mental effort
- Losing necessary items
- Being easily distracted by external stimuli
- Being forgetful in daily activities.
Hyperactivity-impulsivity domain
6 or more symptoms (5 for clients 17 or older) persist for at least 6 months
1. Fidgeting or tapping
2. Leaving seat when seated is expected
3. Running or climbing in inappropriate situations
4. Difficulty in engaging in leisure activities
5. Being on the go or driven by motor
6. Talking excessively
7. Blurting out answers
8. Difficulty waiting turn
Specifiers for ADHD?
There are three presentation specifiers mild, moderate, and severe:
1. Combined presentation (if both inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity are met)
2. Predominantly inattentive
3. Predominantly Hyperactivity presentation
