no hip extension beyond the normal range

avoid = lunges, yoga poses, & kicking a ball
sternal precautions
no arm usage
- no pushing, pulling, lifting, or reaching above the head
- “hug” pillow for tactile reminder
LB trauma or pain precautions
avoid bending/rotation - log roll
SCI precaution
avoid distraction/rotational forces - log roll
osteoporosis precautions
in long bones of LEs or vertebral bodies
burns/wounds or fragile skin precaution
shearing/friction can disrupt healing
hemiplegia precaution
avoid distracting/pulling on the hemiplegic side (risk for dislocation)
