Q

What are the kinds of methods that can be used to measure the activities of the brain

A

> measures the fast changing electrical signals of the brain when communicating (e.g., EEG, MEG)
measures the hemodynamics of the brain region when the regions communicate, as brain regions require oxygenated blood when producing energy (fNIRS, PET, fMRI)
measures the causality

Q

explain amplitude and phase

A

Q

explain spatial and temporal resolution

A

spatial resolution: the ability of the method to zoom-in and inspect the specific region of the brain (brain > region > neuron > axon) (e.g., fMRI has a higher spatial resolution than EEG)

temporal resolution: the amount of time that the method needs to collect data (e.g., EEG has a higher spatial resolution than fMRI)
