Basices Flashcards
Why do we use serology blood test?
To detect and measure the levels of antibodies that resulted from viral or bacterial infection
What is amyloid
It is a miss folded protein as Bata-plated instead of Alpha-helical
What is the arrangement of proteins that the PROTEASES can catalyze
Alpha-helical
What is the smallest infectious agents
Prions
What are the diseases that are caused by prions called
transmissible spongiform encephalopathies
What are plasmids and thier functions
The are extra chromosome double chained DAN that are responsible of making the bacteria active ,resistant to the antibiotic and many functions
What is bacteriophage
Is a virus that attack the bacteria and gives them the pathogens to produce and make it a pathogenic bacteria
What are transposons
They are a mobile gens that they can move from the DNA of the bacteria to the plasmids and if they have a pathogenic gens they will be part of the plasmids if they move to another bacteria
What are viruses
A non cellular molecules that have DNA or RNA with protein cover some has a lipid bilayer two called envolved
What is the difference between nucleus and nucleoid
The nucleus when it has a nuclear membrane like eukaryotic
Nucleoid when it doesn’t have a nuclear membrane
Like prokaryotic
Why the viruses are not cellular
Because they don’t have a metabolic activity
