Precipitated (solid)
Chemical equations/reactions use which law?
Law of conservation of mass
Coefficients
of moles for that substance (quantity)
How to balance equations?
First make sub-numbers even. Multiply the quantity of each element by coefficient in blank. There should be the same amt of each element AND same total amount on each side

Chemical equations with words
hydrogen (g) + oxygen (g) > water
2H2 (g) + 1O2 (g) > 2H2O (l)
What are the diatomics? (ONLY diatomic when by itself)
H2 N2 O2 F2 Cl2 Br2 I2 (forms a 7 in the p table, excluding H!)
Aka non polar covalent/dispersion/sigma bonds
Ammonia
NH3
Direct combination/synthesis
Small+small>large
Decomposition/analysis
Large>small+small
Single replacement
Element+compound>compound+element (one element switches place with another in product) anion>cation/cation>anion
Double replacement
Compound+compound>compound+compound (one element switches place with another in product, PAIRS switch)
Combustion
Compound with C and H + O2 >CO2 + H2O
Aqueous key word
Water solutions (don’t put in H2O but just write aq)
N2+H2=
NH3 (ammonia) exception
