Most common Rx for Legionnarie’s Disease?
Newer macrolides:
- Azithromycin
- Clarithromycin
- CYP
- Respiratory quinolones: Levofloxacin, Ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin
- For severely ill: Rifampin used in combo with above Rx. But watch for CYP!
Drugs indicated for Hospital Acquired Pneumonia (HAP)
- Imipenem-Cilastin
- Aztreonam
- Ceftazidime
- Vancomycin
Drugs indicated for aspiration pneumonia
- Clindamycin
or alternatively: Ampicillin-Sulbactam
Drugs indicated for Acute bronchitis?
- Amoxicillin+Clavulanic acid
- Azithromycin
- Clarithromycin
- Doxycycline
- For severe or resistant cases:
1. Ciprofloxacin
Drugs indicated for lung abscesses
- Clindamycin
- Ceftriaxone + *Metronidazole
(2 for nocosomial infections)

- Azithromycin

- Amoxicillin/clavulanate
