National issues as a result of the war (USA)
No government structure. Uprising against the government (Shays’ Rebellion and Newburg conspiracy). Economic recession, Somewhat delayed by Robert Morris
The Newburg Conspiracy 1783
Large bounties for continental army members went unpaid. Congress gave them a furlough(bad move). Officers camped near Newburg NY for winter 1782-83. Washignton attended a meeting in march 1783, unwelcomed but eventually settled things and brought them to tears by putting on glasses.
Trade issues.
Britain flooded american markets with cheap goods resulting in £2.7million trade defficite. Merchantalisim ended so no more trade with britain, france was broke so didn’t want competion with US. Shipping wasn’t protecte by britain/france and was harrased by Barbery Prints leading to the US navy. State competion lead to many treaties with outher governments.
