Branded as traitors. Lost their land and property. Many were banished without trial. Some states like Virgina allowed time to leave. Treaty of Parris 1783 called for “justice and equality” got ignored

Some fought in continental army, Got banned by Washington. Some offered freedom to fight on both sides (many British ship captains sold them back into slavery because of greed)

Most sided with britain, believed they had better treatment under british rule. Got displaced by treaties and stuff as settlement went westward (Manifest Destiny) and consitution made them foreingn and thus no legal standing.
