What are the normal door operating SOP’s?
- Seatbelt sign turns off (signify the engine is off).
- PA announcement from the purser - “clear to open doors”.
- Ground personnel will knock on the window for the door operator to acknowledge and thumbs up.
- Two cabin crew must be present, one door operator and one door closer.
After SOP’s have been done, what is the normal cabin door opening procedure? (for both door checker and door operator).
- Door operator: Door is disarmed, Window is clear.
- Door checker: Door is disarmed (puts hand over slide arming level in disarmed position)”clear to open door”.
- Door operator: holds fuselage assist handle, checks disarmed lever and window again.
4: Rotate the door control Handle fully AFT and push the door outward and forward until the gust lock engages.
What is the cabin door pre-flight checks for the door owner?
The door owner must ensure:
1: The door is disarmed.
2: Emergency Power Assist System (EPAS) Pressure gauge needle is in the green zone.
3: The door slide raft pressure gauge needle is in the green zone.
4: The RED arrow must align when the door is closed and locked.
5: The safety strap is fully retracted and not visible in the door frame.
What are the cabin door ARMING procedures?
1: Flight crew shall make the PA: “cabin crew prepare all doors and cross check”
2: Lift the plastic guard.
3: Move the slide arming lever to ARMED positive.
4: Lower and secure the plastic guard.
5: Ensure the girt bar indicators are yellow (Not for L+R3 doors.
6: Walk to the opposite door to visually cross-check the armed status of the door.
7: Confirm arming and cross-checking to the purser via the interphone.

Yellow.
What colour are the girt bar indicators in the disarmed position?

What are the cabin door DISARMING procedures?
1: Flight crew shall make the PA: “cabin crew prepare all doors and cross check”.
2: Lift the plastic guard.
3: Move the slide arming lever to the disarmed position.
4: Lower and secure the plastic guard.
5: Ensure the girt bar indicators are black (Not for L+R3 doors).
6: Walk to the opposite door to visually cross-check the disarmed status of the door.
7: Confirm disarming and cross-checking to purser via the inter phone.
What is the cabin door normal closing procedure?
1: Check the door frame area.
2: Check the floor brackets.
3: Check the safety strap is fully retracted.
4: check the safety shoe has been removed.
5: Check for snow and ice.
6: grasp and hold the fuselage assist handle.
7: Pull the gust lock release lever to disengage the gust lock.
8: Using the gust lock release lever, move the door inward until the door is in the frame.
9: Rotate the door control handle fully forward.
What is the slide raft disconnection process?
1: Lift the flap.
2: Pull the white release handle.
3: Cut the mooring line.
What does EPAS stand for?
