B737MAX Flashcards
- What does the In-Air Overrun warning alert you for?
- How will it alert you?
- High risk of runway overrun, given the current airplane energy state, runway condition and the distance to the runway end.
- You will see GO AROUND on the PFD and a voice aural alert “OVERRUN, GO AROUND”
Which 3 systems does the Runway Situation Awareness Tool give us?
- In-Air Overrun warning, On-ground Overrun warning
- Speedbrake warning
- RAAS (Runway Awareness and Advisory System)
- What does the On-Ground Overrun warning alert do?
- How does he do that?
- Alerts the crew on ground that they have to apply MAX manual braking and reverse thrust.
- You will see MAX REVERSE on the PFD and an single aural warning “MAX BRAKES, MAX REVERSE”
- In which situation will you see SPEEDBRAKE on the PFD?
- Do we get an aural warning as well?
- When the speed braked have not deployed within 3 seconds after landing, or during a rejected takeoff above 80kts.
- We will also receive a aural warning “SPEEDBRAKE, SPEEDBRAKE”
From when is the In-Air Overrun warning armed?
From 500ft. above threshold elevation until touchdown.
When will the Runway INOP Light illuminated?
When the In-Air Overrun Warning is inhibited because inputs are invalid or unavailable.
Will we get a In-Air Overrun warning during a circling approach?
No, the warning will be disabled.
Is the On-Ground Overrun Warning working during a rejected takeoff?
No, it is only active during landing rollout.
When will we get the warning “CAUTION! ON TAXIWAY! ON TAXIWAY”
When the ground speed exceeds 40 knots and the aircraft is not on a runway.
We also get the visual alert: amber “ON TAXIWAY” on the ND.
What is RAAS standing for?
Runway Awareness and Advisory System
What does RSAT stand for?
Runway Situation Awareness Tool
Which warnings and Advice does the RAAS system provide
ON GROUND:
1. when approaching the RWY: “APPROACHING 34”.
2. when on the RWY: “On RUNWAY 34”.
3. When approaching the end of the RWY: “30 REMAINING” (30 meter)
4. During landing and RTO: “600 REMAINING” (600m)
5. “CAUTION! ON TAXIWAY! ON TAXIWAY”
IN AIR & ON GROUND:
1. When approach a short RWY (1800m or shorter) “CAUTION! SHORT RUNWAY! SHORT RUNWAY!
What is the In-Air Overrun warning based on?
A predictive landing distance computed using the energy state of the airplane.
What are the alerts from RAAS system based on?
GPS and Internal Runway database.
