How are tumours formed?
Rapid division of abnormal cells.
Compare malignant and benign tumours.
Malignant tumours are cancerous and serious which invade other tissues in the body through the blood, forming secondary tumours. Benign are not as serious and non-cancerous that do not spread in the body.

Any aspect of your lifestyle or substance in your body that can increase the risk of a disease developing.

What is Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) and when does it occur and how does it affect the body?
It occurs when the coronary arteries become narrowed with the build-up of layers of fatty material. It reduces blood flow ;resulting in less oxygen for the heart muscles, which can lead to heart attacks .
How do stents work ?
It is inserted into blocket Coronary arteries to keep them open.
How do Statins work ?
They are drugs that reduce blood cholesterol levels, slowing down the deposit of fatty materials in the arteries.
What is a carcinogen?
A substance that can cause cancers to develop.
What two types of risk factors affect the development of cancers?
Lifestyle and genetic risk factors.
What is a faulty heart valve ?,
Heart valve that doesn’t open properly or leaks.
