What are the five levels of organisation in living organisms?
Cells —>tissues—>organs—>organ system—>Organisms
What are Enzymes?
A large protein that catalyse reactions.
Are Enzymes changed in the reactions they catalyse?
No.
Enzymes are sometimes changed in the reactions they catalyse, what is this?
They are denatured.
What is the lock and key theory ?
A simple model of how enzymes work. The enzymes active site(which is a specific shape) will catalyse a specific reaction through its lock, because the substrates(the key) specific shape fits into its active site.
What is the active site?
Where the reaction occurs.
