Abnormal, uncontrolled cell division
Do benign tumours spread to other tissues?

What are malignant tumours?
Cancers
What can malignant tumours do that benign can’t?
Form secondary tumours
What are lifestyle risks factors for cancer?
Smoking,obesity, common viruses, sub exposure
What are the 2 ways in wich we can treat cancer?
Radio and chemotherapy
What can smoking lead to?
Cardiovascular disease including coronary heart disease, lung cancer and lung diseases such as bronchitis and COPD
What can a fetus that is exposed to smoke lead to?
Restricted oxygen, premature birth, low birthweight and stillbirth
How does diet affect your risk of developing cardiovascular disease?
Directly through cholesterol levels and indirectly through obesity
What is obesity a strong risk factor for?
Type 2 diabetes
What can alcohol cause?
Cirrhosis and liver cancer
