Q

Describe how cells produce proteins..

A

Cells put animo acids together. The order of these is determined by the order of bases. The order of animo acids determines the protein made.

Q

How does protein synthesis work?

A
  1. The DNA unzips.
  2. The mRNA is made using DNA as the template. This is much smaller than DNA and can fit through the partially permeable membrane.
  3. The mRNA joins with the ribosome in the cytoplasm.
  4. The ribosome sticks animo acids together in a chain to make a protein.
