Causes egg to mature in ovary
Stimulates the ovaries to produce oestrogen

Causes lining of the uterus to thicken and grow
Stimulates the production of LH
Inhibits the production of FSH - only one egg is released in each cycle .

A
Stimulates the release of an egg at day 14 (ovulation)
Stimulates progesterone production

A
Maintains lining of the uterus
Progesterone levels are low and low oestrogen levels lining breaks down.
Inhibits FSH and LH production
Low progesterone = increase in FSH , cycle starts again
