B2.3 Cell Structure Flashcards
Describe the role of the plant cell wall in supporting a plant that has been well watered.
The strong cell wall prevents more water entering a plant cell than there is space for in the cell (i.e. when cell is full of water).
The cell wall gives cells that are full of water a specific shape, and this helps to support the plant, keeping it upright.
Role of nucleus
control how a cell grows and work because nucleus contain chromosomes.
controls cell division.
role of cell membranes
hold the cells together.
control substances entering and leaving the cell.
role of cytoplasm
cytoplasm supports many small cell structure.
many different chemical process happen cytoplasm.
contains water so many solutes are dissolved in cytoplasm.
Animal cells do not have……
Cell wall, large vacuole, chloroplast.
red blood cells no nucleus so…..
do not have chromosomes that is why cant grow it own. it replaced with new cell from the bone marrow.
