b2 Flashcards
what is a tissue
a group of smaller cels that work together to carry out there function
what is an organ
is a group of different tissues
what is a organ system
is a group of organs working together to perform they function
digestive system work
food stored in mouth chewed and with salvia food now passes through the onesophagus them into stomach start to digest protein have acid to help 7 hours in stomach turning into a fluid now passes through the small intestine chemical are reaslised into the small intestine from liver and pransres related enzymes lips liver realise bile with seed up lips large intestine then fuese
what are the three main nutrients
carbohydrate starch protein and lipid fats
what are enzymes
large proteins
what do enzymes do
catalyse chemical reactions (peedcthem up )
what is a active site
its where the enzymes attaches to
steps on an enzyme
active sit in the emzyme substrate fits in and break into 2 the differentt subset tat cat fit are called lock and key method
enzyme in digestive system
proteins are Bremen now into proteases found in stomach pancreas small intestine
what happens I we increase the temperature of the emzyes
as we increse the temp the active ofbthe emu]ztme increases
whets it called when the temp is working at the fasted rate
optimum temp
what happens if you increase the wpm pass optimum
the temp decrease because the emzyme vibrates and changes shape
as it’s denatured no longer catalysis the reaction
food test practical
take food sample grind with distilled water using a motor and pestle we want to make a paste we transfer the paste into the beaker and add more distill water stir this so chemical reaction dissolve in the water filer the solution to remove food particles
testing for charbrohydrate
include star and surhhger 2cm cube into are test solution then add a few drops f iodine solution which is a orange colour if starch id present it change to black if not it stays orange
