B2 Flashcards
1
Q
Cell cycle stage 2-Mitosis
A
The nucleus disolves and the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell
The chromosomes move into two seperate nuclei on opposite sides of the cell
Then the membrane and cytoplasm split to create two seperate cells
2
Q
Cell cycle stage 1
A
Cell’s chromosomes duplicate and new subcellular structures are formed
3
Q
Cell cycle stage 3
A
The cell membrane and the cytoplasms divide to create two identical daughter cells
4
Q
Stem cells
A
Unspecialised cells that can differentiate to become specialised
5
Q
Differentiation
A
The process of a cell becoming specialised.
