What are classes A, B and C?
The classes depend on how harmful the drug is. Class A is the most harmful, and people can spend up to 7 years in prison for possession and life for supplying it. Class C is the least harmful and you can only spend up to 2 years in jail for possession and 14 years for supplying it.
Name the five different types of drug.
Depressants, stimulants, hallucinogens, painkillers and performance enhancers.
Name some drugs in class A.
Heroin, methadone, cocaine, ecstasy, or LSD
Name some drugs in class B.
Cannabis, amphetamines, barbiturates
Name some drugs in class C.
Anabolic steroids, valium, temazepam
What is rehabilitation?
Medial support to help someone stop using a drug.
Why is it hard to stop taking a drug?
Drugs, such as nicotine, are addictive and this means a person finds it hard to stop using it. They will experience withdrawal symptoms, such as fever and vomiting, if they try to stop.
What are the long term effects of alcohol?
Liver problems and heart disease
