How does smoking increase blood pressure?
Nicotine increases heart rate and blood pressure, and when carbon monoxide mixes with haemoglobin, it forms carboxyhaemoglobin which is permanent and traps oxygen in the blood cells.
How do you get a heart attack?
High saturated fat diet increases cholesterol, and cholesterol builds up in the arteries as plaque. This causes the arteries to narrow and can cause a blood clot. The blood clot can travel through the blood vessels to the heart, and can cause a heart attack.
