B1 1.2 Flashcards
What is the Nucleus?
A cell that controlls all the activities of the cell and is surrounded by the nuclear membrane-contains chromosomes which intsructs to build new organisms
What is the cytoplasm?
A liquid gel as organelles are suspended where most of the chemical reaction is needed for life
What is the cell membrane?
Controlls passage of substances such as glucose and minerals ions into cell
What is the mitrochondria
Structure in the cytoplasm where aerobic respiration takes place releasing energy for the cell
Definition of ribosomes?
Protien sythesis takes place making all the proteins needed into cell
Difference of plant cell
They make their owm food by photosynthesis. Do not move their whole body but plant cells are normally bigger than plant cells
What is the Chloroplasts?
Found in all green parts of a plant they are green cause they contain Chlorophyll
What is Chlorophyll?
Absorbs light so they can plant to make food by photosynthesis
What is permanent vacuole?
A space in the cytoplasm filled with cell sap
